The Region

The local sandy beaches known as Salamis and Mimoza forms part of Famagusta Bay and can be reached by a short walk or accessed further along the coast by car. Year around sunshine means that it is possible to enjoy the beauty of this Mediterranean country. In this idyllic location it is possible for one to enjoy local life within the beautiful tranquil surroundings but be close to the more lively attractions in Famagusta. There are several up market beach hotels and many traditional beach bars and fish restaurants.
The area around Salamis is rich in culture with the Salamis Ruins being a very popular tourist attraction situated a few minutes drive from the villa.
Whilst most tourists flock to Kyrenia with its picture postcard harbour the area has seen considerable development in recent years whilst Famagusta and Salamis offers a much quieter relaxed environment.
The easily reached vibrant town and seaport of Famagusta old town is a living museum, with one of Europe’s largest and best preserved medieval walled cities and is a major commercial centre that buzzes with life and has a good and wide selection of cafes and restaurants and an exciting nightlife for those seeking it. The wonderful beaches of the Karpaz Peninsular are just a short 30-40 minute drive away

The Village

Yenibogazici is quite a large village and with Famagusta on the doorstep it really is the hub of life. In Famagusta there is a modern part that boasts numerous shops, banks, schools, medical facilities and so on, most requirements for modern living in fact. Then there is the “Old Town”. To get into the old town one enters via stone archways through the ancient city walls. Once inside you enter a vast maze of narrow roads that are filled with many small shops, historical points of interest and some excellent restaurants that will tempt you with the aromas of Turkish Cypriot dishes or well prepared European cuisine if that is your preference. Ercan airport can be reached within 45 minutes.
