The total charge in the case of a purchase of immovable property is £1,400. This includes filing the search to the District Lands Office to find out whether or not there is any legal impediment on the property, the preparation of the Sale Agreement, application to the Ministry of Interior to receive permission to purchase the property and being present at the relevant District Lands Office on the date of transfer of the deeds into the Purchasers’ name, assisting the registration of the Sale Agreement to the District Lands Office. The potential purchasers also need to pay their lawyer 0.5% stamp duty on the sale price which is paid to their lawyer along with the legal fees of £1,400.
