The Location.
The town of Kyrenia, (Girne) has a fascinating history and is famous for having what
many believe to be the most attractive harbour in the Mediterranean. This is now
surrounded by some excellent restaurants where you can sit in the warm sunshine and
enjoy a meal or a drink whilst watching the activity in the harbour. A number of
Turkish style gulets operate as pleasure craft and working fishing boats bring their
catch to the restaurants. Fish meals don’t get much fresher than this. To the east,
a good road takes you along the coast towards Esentepe where a superb new 18 hole
golf course has been built. These developments are an indication that the big time
investors have a great deal of confidence in North Cyprus and these things can only
add to the value of private property here. New roads cut through the mountains open
up the routes to the south and the major town and seaport of Famagusta is easily
reached. It is also much easier to drive to the new resort at Bafra with its five
star hotels and super casino. From there it is not far to the fantastic Karpaz National
Park where the new Karpaz gate Marina is under construction. The location is convenient
for the capital, Nicosia(Lefkosa) and also the airport at Ercan which is an easy
drive of about 23 miles. It can be seen that the much improved road infrastructure
has greatly assisted travel within North Cyprus thus adding to the attraction for
