BUILDING YOUR OWN VILLA IN NORTHERN CYPRUS

If a decision has been made to build a dream home in the sun, away from the hustle and bustle, then this one donum plot of land really deserves a closer look. THE LOCATION

The Village

The village of Turnalar sits comfortably on a plateau 100 meters above sea level with the hills of Kantara as a perfect backdrop, it comes under the administration of the nearby larger village of Iskele. The village is very small with a collection of houses and farms. The centre has a mini market and the usual church and mosque but the nearby village of Iskele and the larger supermarkets is only a few miles away. The picturesque harbour at Bogaz is just a short drive away and well worth a visit, with a number of good restaurants and bars. The area around Iskele and Bogaz contains a mixture of local Cypriots, British born Cypriots and expatriates. Tunalar is just a 35 minute drive to Ercan airport and only 25 minutes from Famagusta. Close by is Iskele beach, a long stretch of sandy beach within a 10 minute drive. Bogaz Harbour is less than ten minutes away and then you have the whole of the Karpaz peninsula to explore, pretty much at your doorstep. There are a number of good restaurants in the area including those at Bogaz Harbour.

 

Land sizes

Traditionally land area in Cyprus was measured in Donums. This can be confusing to anyone new to the country. So to help we have converted them to more familiar units of measurement for you

1 Donum  1338 square metres (one third of an English acre, so 3 donums = one acre)

1 Evlec  334.45 square metres (there are 4 evlecs to one donum)

 

Build costs

Build costs can vary, dependent on what standard of finish is required. Costs will vary also depending on the location and situation of the site, e.g. if it is on a hill or access is difficult. Also to be taken into consideration are costs of architects, electric supply, swimming pools, landscaping etc. We can assist by obtaining quotations for you once your criteria is agreed.
