The most charming room in all of Karmi village! Well, maybe not, however this bedroom
evokes a certain nostalgia that fits in with the vintage-style designs, from the
fitted wardrobes to the shutters on the windows, the vanity area to the log ceiling,
even the views present a charming scene of the Karmi village.
The picturesque village of Karmi is situated approximately 4 miles west of Kyrenia
and is one thousand feet above sea level giving virtually every house breath-taking
views along the coastline. It is known to the locals as the English village, the
village is inhabited mostly by British and German expatriates. Cooled in summer by
a light breeze, this lovingly restored village is a refuge of peace and genuine charm.
With lovely views of the northern coastline from every corner, the relaxed and informal
style of Karmi will not fail to enchant every visitor.
With its own village pub, a small selection of local bistros, and a nearby handicraft
shop, this region will appeal to anyone seeking peace tranquillity, while being just
a 10 minute drive from the hustle and bustle of the Kyrenia area.
This small village of amazing scenic beauty that has enormous appeal has been completely
renovated. In 1983, the whole village was transferred to the Ministry of Tourism
and within seven years the whole village was developed and 150 houses were completely
renovated in the traditional style with flagged floors, beamed ceilings, stone arches
and roof terraces set in an array of flowers, plants and trees. Great importance
was shown to keep the character of the village untouched while catering for the needs
of its inhabitants.
Karmi is undoubtedly the prettiest, enchanting and most well-kept village in Cyprus.
